Draft Screenplay

Character
- Fredrick: Very laid back, thoughtful character. Casually dressed in shirt and jeans. Cautious and calculating. High ambitions yet struggling to make a living on a moderate office workers wage. Lucky golden necklace given to him by Jane, sign of their friendship. Puts friends and family above everything else in life because they are all he has really had. Loyal, believes in justice. Scared of the dark.

- Jane: Quiet and sweet. Upper class, well dressed yet very kind. In a long term violent relationship with Damien. Beaten whenever she questions Damien's authority. Held by Fredrick whenever she breaks down, heart torn between the two brothers. Died on the day she found the courage to dump Damien.

- Damien: A dark character. Always a shadow. Never talks much, ponders everything, when he speaks they are cruel yet wise words. Dressed immaculately in black suits. An underground mob boss, with his own firm and many underground connections.

Setting
Our production will take place in several settings:
- Our first setting will be in a dark room, preferably a cellar like environment. There will be a single dim streak of light stretching across Fredrick's face and shoulders, the room will be dusty and gloomy. 
- The second scene will be a dark, peaceful scene, with an amazing shot of a city lit up at night. The camera will be looking at this over the shoulders of Jane and Fredrick.
- The third setting will be a nice looking restaurant where we will see Damien, Fredrick and Jane eating. The restaurant will be quite posh with the focus mainly being on Fredrick and Jane. 
- The fourth setting will be a very white, clean bedroom. This is the shot of jane dead, the reason of having a very clean, white room is that the blood from Jane will be heavily emphasised (white on red).

BEGINNING OF 'EVANESCENCE - BRING ME TO LIFE'  IS PLAYED THEN FADES WHEN CREDITS FINISH

FADE FROM WHITE TO CHARACTER

Whimpers are heard, like someone is having a bed dream.

An EXTREME CLOSE UP of Fredrick’s eyes with sweat dripping down his face while he is a sleep, then it PANS OUT to show him tied on a chair and gagged. Dim lighting will emphasise the evil behind the person who tied Fredrick up.


CLASHING OF METAL
IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE CHORUS 'EVANESCENCE - BRING ME TO LIFE'  IS PLAYED
Then as soon as the clash of metal is heard Fredrick Jumps and fast zoom in to a CLOSE UP of his face for 5 seconds, then the camera creeps into his eyes while his eyes are darting from side to side. POINT OF VIEW SHOT of Fredrick looking down at the ropes tying him up and starts squirming. Then back to a CLOSE UP of Fredrick's face.

FLASHES TO WHITE AND A MONTAGE IS SHOWN 

The montage shows clips of events leading to his situation, which is a flash back for Fredrick. The first clip is a MID SHOT of Jane, Fredrick and Damien having a laugh at dinner but Damien seem agitated, then a CLOSE UP SHOT of Jane’s face and she is dead in her bedroom, with blood pouring from her neck. Then an OVER THE SHOULDER LOW ANGLED SHOT of a police man talking to Fredrick.


POLICE MAN WITH AN ECHOED VOICE
"There are no leads, the case it closed"  


Then a CLOSE UP SHOT SIDE ON of the two men which is Fredrick talking to a man blacked out and telling him he knows what he done, finally a OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT of a man blacked out hitting Fredrick (who has his back to the man) over the head  with a baseball bat. In between the clips there is a CLOSE UP SHOT of Fredrick’s face and his head shaking after each clip.


THE MUSIC SLOWLY FADES OUT AS HE IS COMING AROUND FROM FLASHBACK

MAN’S VOICE (O.S)

"So, you finally awake"

An HIGH ANGLE OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT of Fredrick on the chair. Then Fredrick starts going hysterical in the chair trying to release himself. Then a LOW ANGLED SHOT MID SHOT of the man who is blacked out, with only his body visible.

MAN’S VOICE

"Hmm, I see you a bit… tied up"


MID SHOT of Fredrick with a stern look on him face, making it clear he doesn't find the man funny. POINT OF VIEW SHOT from the man taking the gag out of Fredrick's mouth. CLOSE UP SHOT of Fredrick's face as she stares at the floor then slowly looks up at the camera.


AN AWKWARD SILENCE 
LOW ANGLED SHOT of the man with a shadow over his face. The swaps to a CLOSE UP SHOT of Fredrick's face.

FREDRICK

"Why are you doing this?"

  

OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT, of a MID SHOT of the man. 


CREAPS OUT to show Fredrick's hands tied and the man's, who is blacked out, in front of him. 

A THUD NOISE


BLACK OUT TITLE 'DOUBLE DEALING' AND THEN SLOWLY FADES OUT


LONG SHOT of Fredrick then TRACKING SHOT of him walking down the road to a restaurant.


CROSS CUTS TO INSDIE THE RESTAURANT
MID SHOT of Jane and Damien sitting at the table looking over, then a LONG SHOT of Fredrick who comes and sits down at the table.
